“Amanda is a skilled and effortless facilitator, she connected quickly with our young participants and made them feel at ease. It’s rare that any artist with such a handle on their craft can teach to anyone at any level, and Amanda did just that. Not only did she make reading plays incredibly fun, it was accessible and culturally relevant. It was such a joy to have her work with our youth group – after her workshop we felt our group dynamic shift by leaps and bounds” – Chantle Beeso and Lena Peters, Co-Founders of the GirlX Program
Through her work with Lost Lyrics and later as an independent contract educator, Amanda has coordinated programs, facilitated learning spaces, developed and delivered workshops and moderated panels for conferences, classrooms, collectives and community centres around the world. Embarking from the pedagogical practice developed by Lost Lyrics, the learning spaces that Amanda develops are context specific to the communities she is entering. They create a bridge of learning between the everyday lived experience of participants and the space of reflection, theory and imagination that the ideal classroom should provide.
